YOU SHOULD KNOW!
Menopause as a "disease" has been largely fabricated by physicians and the pharmaceutical industry. There is no evidence to support any claims that estrogen retards aging, keeping women young and feminine forever. On the contrary, for most women, estrogen has had unpleasant side effects ranging from annoying to life-threatening.
Treating menopausal symptoms with Estrogen Replacement Therapy (ERT) began in the late 1950s when pharmaceutical companies recognized there was money to be made. They learned the value of Public Relations campaigns in which "ads" appeared as Editorial articles about the so-called benefits of ERT [ Estrogen Replacement Therapy ] were planted in magazines and newspapers. The public naively believed that if they read such editorials in major news publications, then they must be true. And this practice continues till today.
A charismatic gynecologist named Dr. Robert A. Wilson also hit the streets with the "good news" about estrogen. Backed by the pharmaceutical companies, everyone researching or writing about menopause quoted Dr. Wilson, accepting his information as fact --- when in reality it was fiction. In truth, estrogen had been very poorly researched.
Through the mid-1970’s, the ERT myth continued as more and more women opted for pills that would keep them young. By 1975, however, women on ERT were developing serious medical problems. It is no coincidence that Estrogen Replacement Therapy was created as the first American women raised to be Happy Homemakers were approaching menopause.
NOTE: Man-made products not found in Nature are much more profitable for the pharmaceutical companies than natural products because, unlike natural substances, they can be patented.
The undesirable effects of estrogen are countered by progesterone.
